Strandes has been the primary folks for my Jeep since I bought it. My wifes family introduced me to the place as all of them have been bringing their vehicles here for decades. These guys are honest, hard working Christian folks and will not steer you wrong....EVER. Stick with the local guys in everything you can, and in Denton, Strandes is the best of the local guys.

Great service, and very quick. Not overly expensive and they don't seem to try and screw you over. The owners and employees are very friendly and personable. The first time I came here was for an alternator test, and while the test passed, they offered a free retest if I had problems in the future. I came back when I needed my emergency brakes retightened and I was out within half an hour. I've fortunately never had to visit them with any serious problems, but if I do in the future, I'll be heading back.

Frankly, the most honest shop in Denton! I've been here twice and both times they were as honest as could be. First the shop came highly recommended from my father who was a mechanic in Denton for 30 years (now retired). The first time I went in it was to have the spark plugs changed on my 2006 Mercury Mountaineer. This is something I would have normally done myself but the Ford 3V 4.6L V8 has a very weird spark plug design and the job takes a good mechanic about 4 hours. Because its been over 100 degrees this summer I didn't want to do it myself. Kevin (the owner of Strandes) gave me a quote and told me to fill the tank with a high concentrate fuel injector cleaner. He said it would save him some time, and as a direct result save me money =) I ran the cleaner and took it back a few days later. He finished in half a day and about $200 under his quoted price! I've almost never seen that with a garage before. Most garages will charge you by the book even if it takes them less time, not Strande's. Work was done well, quick, and under estimate. Within 1500 miles of visiting Strandes the first time my radiator sprung a leak (very common on Ford Explorers and Mountaineers!). This time I just decided to stop in. I was on his side of town and the leak wasn't bad enough to leave me stranded or have the engine run hot. I just wanted him to look at it. I pulled in and they got me in for a pressure check (which they didn't charge me for btw) within 5 minutes. The mechanic there found the leak, and said the radiator was toast (which is what I suspected). Kevin said they could get it fixed right now if I wanted. Since I didn't want to risk engine damage or sitting on the side of the road in 107 degree (107!!!) Texas heat I agreed. Kevin even gave me a lift home since I couldn't find a ride on such short notice. During the car ride I told Kevin that if any of the radiator hoses need to be replaced just go ahead and replace them. I gave him carte blanche to make some more money with that statement. When I arrived to pick it up he told me that the hoses didn't really need to be replaced yet. I was ready to pay for it but he was up front and honest and told me that it didn't need to be done right now. So once again they fixed up in a few short hours, under budget with no BS. They even cleaned up the excess coolant from the engine bay and undercarriage... most mechanics would just let it burn off naturally leaving you to smell it for weeks. Its the little details that show they actually care about you as a customer. Anyway, since my dad has retired (bad shoulders) I send all my friends family, co-workers there and I haven't heard a single complaint from any of them. They often do things for free, and often include things that other shops charge for. If you're looking for an honest mechanic that stands behind their work, with good prices go see Kevin at Strande's garage.

This is the only automotive shop I feel safe at. I've had my car serviced there 3 times. I went in for battery problems, horn problems and once because my car made a funny noise. They correctly diagnosed the problem with the battery (after I just came from a mechanic who did not) and they fixed it for cheap. With my horn they found a way to save me about $600 by avoiding having to replace a very, very expensive piece. I brought my car in for the funny noise (I was moving out of town and wanted to make sure I took it to them and not some unknown mechanic trying to rip me off) and they looked at it for free. They explained to me what was going on, fixed my check engine light and sent me out the door with no bill. I have slowly turned all of my friends into loyal strandes customers and they all have their own "omg strandes rox' stories.

The guys at Strands are friendly and efficient. I thought I had a major car problem, but the connector on my battery was just loose. They were so nice about it and didn't make me feel stupid, plus they tightened up my connector for free! This is a great family owned place, and I highly recommend it.

Kevin, I just want to say thanks for taking such good care of my car! Even though I was a first time customer, I felt like you worked with me as if I was one of your loyal regular clients! You fixed my brakes as well as a very annoying wheel bearing/hub that was making the worst noise I have ever heard! Now the car stops on a dime and is quiet as a mouse! Not only was the work done well and at a good price, it was done quickly! I could not ask for more and I will certainly come back! Thanks again, Shane
